MACCABI SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Maccabi South Australia has participated in the interstate Jewish Sports Carnival since the 20th Carnival held in Perth, 1953. Over the years, South Australia has fielded teams in athletics, swimming, tennis, chess, squash, ten-pin bowling, table tennis and debating, among other sports. The Adelaide Jewish Community numbers only 1500 people and is the smallest of the larger communities. Despite this the South Australian athletes have always made a major contribution to Maccabi sports.
In 2006, a team of outdoor bowlers from Maccabi Victoria visited Adelaide for what has become an extremely successful and well-attended Annual Bowling Carnival.

Maccabi Victoria has represented jewish sport in Victoria since 1924. it is the largest Jewish organisation in Australia with over 11,000 supporters (including 4,200 active playing members), 24 sporting and recreational clubs and over 600 regular volunteers. After 80 years our goal remains the same, to connect our community through sport - encouraging more people to participate in healthy physical activity, to stengthen Jewish identity and continuity and to make friends for life.
The Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation was established in 2003 to build a capital fund through donations and an annual appeal, enabling Maccabi Victoria to construct facilities such as the Leon Haskin Tennis Centre, opened in 2008; deliver sporting equipment to clubs, introduce programs to benefit clubs including a Coaching development Program, Elite Scholarship Program and the disadvantaged Player Program.

Maccabi WA is a very important organisation in Jewish life in Perth, offering members and the community an involvement in many diverse sporting and cultural activities.
These include soccer, cricket, tennis, table tennis, netball, golf, martial arts, chess, Israeli folk dancing and bridge. Maccabi WA is also pursuing a swimming club among other activities.
In 2008 the top-rated Western Australian Table Tennis players held a prestigious tournament at the Maccabi facility, well-organised by Maccabi WA. The organization was also privileged to have an Australian grandmaster visit the Maccabi Chess Club to play and instruct.
Maccabi WA’s grounds are surrounded by the Carmel School which provides a pool of junior sportspeople and is also used by them for a number of their sporting requirements. Currently Maccabi WA is fund raising for new Changing Rooms, and is in the process of finalising the building contract. This marks the culmination of a two year project and will significantly improve current facilities.
