Sad passing of Mike Wrublewski 0AM - Maccabi stalwart

The Board of Maccabi Australia, our affiliated States and members join the Australian Jewish Community in expressing our deepest sympathy to Shauna, Adam, David, Sasha, Zali and family on the passing of Mike Wrublewski on Saturday 29th August 2009.

 

From a passionate Maccabi participant into a member of the Maccabi Australia Council, the creator of Maccabi Junior Sports Carnival, Maccabiah Head of Delegation and member of the Maccabi World Union – Mike was a pioneer, visionary and leader.

 

Prior to his passing, the Maccabi Australia Board honoured Mike’s contribution to Maccabi with the creation of the Mike Wrublewski Maccabi Australia Leadership Award.

 

The award will be presented in perpetuity to the Organising Manager of each Junior Maccabi Sports Carnival. The presentation will take place during the closing ceremony of every Carnival with an accompanying recounting of his wonderful achievements for Jewish sport.

 

Mike Wrublewski will be sadly missed by the Maccabi family and his work on behalf of Maccabi AQustralia will serve as a legacy to inspire future Maccabi leaders.
